When the word ‘adjustment’ is said or heard it’s widely accepted and assumed it deals with chiropractic.         In short, we focus on the top 3 bones (including your skull), because that area surrounds the base of the brainstem so it’s incredibly important for overall health and even survival. It has a wide range of motion along with complicated mechanics. Have you heard of spinal discs? We humans don’t have them at the top of our neck so it’s very, very movable and compensates for that thing called life and the stress that comes with it.

What’s the upper cervical adjustment like?

        Very different from the ‘cracking’ videos you see on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram (by the way, that version works amazingly well for loads of people for most parts of the spine). The method at Health by the Sea by Dr. Fattie requires no twisting, cracking, or popping of the neck. It’s very gentle and comfortable even for people who have an active flare-up of neck pain, chronic pain for years on end, and even those post-surgery and/or with spinal fusions.

        We do utilize several full-spine techniques in addition to the upper cervical adjusting, so our care is very customized to what you want and actually need, rather than selecting items off a menu and hoping for the best.
